Eugene International Church of Christ

Tim and Lianne Kernan lead the London International Christian Church (www.londonchurch.org.uk) and are a dear brother and sister to many of us here in Eugene. In Late 2006/early 2007 a small handful of disciples (about 15) from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo courageously decided to join the Sold-Out Discipling Movement family of churches and began a new congregation. (read related article) The Eugene church along with the Portland church in February of 2007 opted to send Tim Kernan to Kinshasa to stabilize and encourage this new fledgling congregation. Amidst some very challenging moments (even life threatening) Tim persevered and began working with Lola Lof, the leader of the group of sold-out disciples there in Kinshasa. And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. The following message is the first in a new series - “Good News From The Front Line” Each article is going to feature aspects of this years special missions contribution. God moved through the disciples in the Eugene Church to raise some $27,000 for special missions this year! Our original goal was $23,500 - about 15x each member’s weekly contribution. God was glorified as disciples sacrificed time, money, and their hearts putting on garage sales, working at car washes, and giving sacrificially.
